Painted across the New Mexico landscape, the ocotillo plant stands as a local symbol of adaptability, growth, and dormant beauty that persists even in challenging conditions. Often dismissed as barren brush, it appears spiny and threatening if it hasn't recently been quenched by a desert rainstorm. When the monsoon clouds open, though, the ocotillo transforms, sprouting deep green leaves and crimson red flowers.
