Values

Authenticity, Equity, Fortitude, Honesty, Humility, Reciprocity

Authenticity: We show up as we are, and we aim to create an environment where you feel safe to do the same, regardless of your background or intersectionality.

Equity: We resist the deceptively benign posturing of equality, instead pursuing the truth and empowerment that can only be found by honoring differences in learning, identity, and story.

Fortitude: We recognize that change is demanding, and we shun the privileged temptation to take the easy path, even when the road gets bumpy. We're here for the hard conversations.

Honesty: We view your resources, including your time—which is the same thing as your life on this Earth—as invaluable. We don't believe in waste, and if we can't help, we'll be upfront about it.

Humility: We approach learning as collaborative, believing in co-creating unique experiences together, because the funds of knowledge that exist in your community have inherent worth. We do not know it all, and we stay forever open to your guidance.

Reciprocity: We want to build lasting relationships among New Mexican communities, and not just when we benefit financially. We believe that supporting each other is the best way to learn and grow and heal across generations.

Digging Into Our Values

Cultural responsiveness in education means creating environments where people(s) feel honored, validated, and empowered to bring their whole selves into the learning space. It's an action-oriented, and, yes, political stance rooted in showing up authentically, honoring differences, and staying committed through the discomfort that real change often requires. It asks us to be honest about what we know and what we don’t, to treat time and wisdom as sacred, and to hold space for voices that have long been spoken over. At its best, it’s a shared process, guided by humility and sustained through relationships built on trust, care, and reciprocity. Our values live symbiotically to guide our Mission and Vision, as we strive to create learning experiences that are transformative.
